The project last year was a huge success and some very positive feedback was received.

“A few months ago you asked me to keep you informed about X’s cricket progress following his hub training last winter at Nottingham High School.  X has previously played for Wollaton U13s with a very talented group of young boys 4 or 5 who represented the County. Also he had never been coached by anyone outside the club or played any winter cricket!  Three or Four weeks into the Hub coaching it became obvious to me that his cricket had improved so much.

X himself was looking forward to the Sunday sessions more than he had the previous out door matches because of the level of coaching he was receiving and the confidence he was gaining as a result.

At the end of the session I believe you spoke to the Wollaton coach and between you X was put forward for a Sub County Trial.  He was successful at that trial and played two of the three games for the sub county this summer returning bowling figures yesterday of 5 – 0 – 9 – 1.  On top of this instead of batting at 6 or 7 for Wollaton he has been promoted to opening the batting facing County bowlers in most matches and doing very well indeed looking completely comfortable.

The biggest compliment I can pay the Hub is that he now goes to Cricket with the same enthusiasm as when he’s going to play football!!  Thank you and your coaches for allowing his talent to shine through and for giving him a platform that will ensure he plays weekend cricket at a good level for the years to come!”
