The government recently announced that the first bank holiday in May 2020 will be changed from Monday 4 May to Friday 8 May. This will affect the current published Term Dates for Summer Term 2020 (2019/20 academic year). The decision has been made by the government to coincide with the 75th anniversary of VE Day. This May Day bank holiday is traditionally on a Monday but the government has postponed the holiday to the Friday to form part of a three-day weekend of commemorative events. The revised school calendar is attached and will be updated on our website to reflect this change. Please make sure that staff are aware that Monday 4th May 2020 is now a normal school / working day. Any prior commitments which have been pre-booked and are not moveable, will need to be considered and managed on an individual school basis.
Please note, that Academies are welcome to use this calendar only if they are adhere to 5 INSET days a year. If your Trust have agreed more than 5 days you must remove the Nottingham City Council branding to avoid confusion that all schools and academies are the same and support this move.
