The City Council's Internal Audit Section undertakes a rolling programme of schools audits

Our aim is to provide Head Teachers and Governors with an independent assessment of their financial arrangements as well as providing the City Council's Section 151 Officer (currently Geoff Walker) with the same level of assurance.

Schools planned for an Internal Audit visit 2016-17

  • Claremont Primary & Nursery
  • Dovecote Primary
  • Dunkirk Primary & Nursery
  • Greenfields Community School & Foundation Unit
  • Haydn Primary & Nursery
  • Heathfield Primary & Nursery
  • Hempshill Hall Primary & Nursery
  • Jubilee Primary
  • The Nottingham Nursery & Training Centre
  • Radford Primary School
  • Robin Hood Primary
  • Rosehill Special School
  • Southglade Primary
  • Welbeck Primary & Nursery
  • Westglade Primary School
  • Whitegate Primary & Nursery School
  • Woodlands Special School

Please note that Internal Audit will not visit a school if they are close to converting to Academy status.

As budgets are delegated to schools, there is a charge of £1,020 for a visit by Internal Audit. Should a school wish to independently procure a review of its financial arrangements, for example use a firm of external auditors, then it is at liberty to do so. However, schools will have to ensure that these arrangements are of a comparable standard and scope to that currently provided by Internal Audit and these will have to be reviewed by Internal Audit on behalf of the Section 151 Officer.

Schools will be contacted approximately 4 weeks before the planned audit is due to commence, to arrange a time convenient to the school.
